Today we’ll delve into accessorizing your home bar through seating and other personal touches that make your bar your own.

Add the right finishing touches to set your bar apart! You’ll be spending a lot of time in your new space, so extras that add comfort and good looks are always a good idea. Features like bar signs and the right bar stools can really bring your bar together.

Bar Stools and Seating
Personal Touches

Once you have your home bar constructed, you’ll need a place for people to sit. Bar stools come in all kinds of varieties and sizes. They also range in cost, from very reasonable to quite expensive.

If your bar is the standard 42-inches high, you will most likely want 30-inch bar stools. Before you start shopping for your seating, you’ll want to have an idea of what you’re looking for. Generally, bar stools fall into one of the following categories:

• Wooden Bar Stools
• Designer Metal Bar Stools
• Standard Metal Bar Stools

For a traditional pub feel, wooden bar stools are a great way to go. They are generally a little on the expensive side, but they are durable and in many cases, totally customizable. Choose your wood, stain, color and even the pattern for the cushion to make them your own. If you do decide to go this route and customize them to match your bar, you should expect anywhere between a 4 – 8 week lead-time, as it takes some time to build them to your exact specifications.

If your home bar has a more contemporary feel, you may want to use metal bar stools. They’re sleek and there are many styles and sizes available that you can find ones to compliment your bar perfectly. Generally, these designer metal stools are made to order as well, so they’ll also have a lead-time of 4 – 8 weeks.

These are the bar stools that you see everywhere. They’re reasonably priced and tough enough to stand up to your most idiotic friends, even while drinking! These popular metal bar stools come backless, with halfbacks, or full backs and they’re available in a variety of colors. These stools are popular and in high demand, so it’s usually easy to find what you want easily and bring them home that day.

While it might not be appropriate to hang a sign reading "Beware Pickpockets and Loose Women" over the fireplace in your family room, your bar area is a totally different story. Decorating your bar can be great fun, especially when it comes to signage!
