Funny Beer Ads, Part 3

Tuesday, April 21st, 2009 by Hannah

Last week we posted some of our favorite humorous beer ads, (a) for comic relief and, (b) to ponder the question: Do funny beer commercials make us want to buy the beer, or do they just make us laugh? I’ll pop a poll up later to get a survey of how you all feel, but in the meantime, enjoy 3 more ads (thanks, William):

Heineken Oops Commercial

Miller Lite Cat Fight Commercial

Bud Light Luge Commercial
(I am aware the video below says "Miller Lite" but it is a Bud Light ad, I assure you).

I’m a huge ad nerd, so much so that I enjoy watching commercials more than the actual TV programs! While I do hold a high standard for my beer commercials, I don’t think that they actually factor into my purchasing decision much. It might have something to do with the fact that the big brands with the big ad budgets just don’t have the taste that I’m looking for…

Even so, I typically enjoy Budweiser and Heineken commercials most – yet, when I’m at a gas station picking up a case on the way to a party, I go with what’s on sale and if prices are comparable, I always go with Coors Light. Unless they’re introducing a new product that looks so appealing I’ve just got to try it, I generally look to beer ads for entertainment purposes only. I might be a weirdo though, as bartenders reported a large increase in Budweiser sales during the SuperBowl this past year… maybe their 7 spots (at an estimated $3 million each) were worth it?

does anyone know where i can find the classic American beer campaign (i think its buds) its just not the same without beer.

one eg: the ranchers had a hard day putting up fences and as the sun is setting (beautifully shot) the younger asks the older for his daughters hand in marraige and in the emotional moment he digs in the cooler and pulls out an ice cold yam… its just not the same without beer

another: the two old gents fishing and have a best friend hallmark moment and the guy pulls out an ice cold carrot….

cant find these ads anywhere online??? please help.
