Poll: How Do You Celebrate Cinco de Mayo? »

Happy Cinco de Mayo!

I won’t delve back into the history behind the holiday, since I covered the short version here. Instead, I’ll just treat you to a darn good margarita recipe, in celebration of the day. It’s one of the most popular cocktails sipped and/or gulped in the US, so if you haven’t made one for yourself yet, now’s the time.
Margarita
Classic Margarita, Neat
1 ½ oz tequila
½ oz triple sec
Dash of lemon or lime juice
3 oz sour mix
Lime wedge, for garnish
Salt or sugar to rim the glass

Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice cubes. Shake well. Salt the rim of a chilled margarita glass. Strain the contents into the glass. Garnish with a lime wedge and enjoy!
