Get Serious About Wings

There’s no area more serious about hot wings than Buffalo, the first city ever to fry ‘em up, coat ‘em with fiery sauce, dunk ‘em in bleu cheese and ask for seconds…

Let’s take a moment to pause here. Did I say bleu cheese? Yep. Not ranch dressing or some other Buffalo Chicken Wings Sauces and Suppliescreamy white stuff. Bleu cheese. Everyone listening here? Nothing adds to the delight of enjoying a Buffalo Wing like bleu cheese. To all you people who thought the white dressing was ranch, I’m telling you now; it’s bleu cheese. Seriously - ranch couldn’t touch the stuff as a chicken wing dipper. Please, please stop serving ranch with your Buffalo-style chicken wings…. please.

Ok, now that I’ve got that out of the way (did I mention we dip them in bleu cheese?) Buffalo, as most of you know, is the home of the hot wing. The first batch was whipped up years ago at Anchor Bar on Main Street as a quick, random snack and they’ve become legendary since. Many other cities around the country try to duplicate the Buffalo Wing but if you’re coating them in straight butter or some other slathering agent, instead of using a mixture of hot sauce and the like, they’re not Buffalo Wings. They may be tasty to you, and they may be fried chicken wings, but Buffalo Wings they are not. Just setting the record straight.

If you would like to enjoy the deliciousness of Buffalo Wings at home or in your restaurant, no matter where you live, we’ve got everything you need to make it happen (barring the actual chicken - BAGGOCK!).

From chicken wing sauce made by Anchor Bar, the originators themselves, to wing tossing bowls, bleu cheese dipping bowls, tongs, wing bone bowls, super spicy hot sauces and more, we’ve got all you need to enjoy real Buffalo Hot Wings, whenever the fancy strikes.

P.S….. if ever you come to Buffalo to visit, and decide you’d like to enjoy Buffalo Wings where they originated, they’re simply called "Wings" here. The "Buffalo" is silent. :)

Right on Hannah! Ranch doesn’t hold a candle to bleu cheese (in fact the thought of dipping tasty wings in ranch rather grosses me out!)

People can poke fun at our winter weather and misfortunes in professional sports all they want but no one can argue that the food here is seriously fantastic - especially the wings! I visited Charlotte, North Carolina last year and had wings that were supposedly “Buffalo-style” but let me tell you… the worst wings I’ve ever had in Buffalo were 10 times better than those impostors.

If I have left overs…maybe I’ll bring them tonight to share….

Best place i’ve been to is Buffalo Wild Wings. Awesome!
I got this hot sauce with honey in it. Chapped my lips so bad in a half hour. Jeezus!
    Damn it was good though.

haha, yah, we’ve got a few of those joints here in the Queen City but I tend to steer clear of larger chain establishments. If you ever get to Buffalo, try Duff’s or Anchor Bar. Lafayette Tap Room has tasty wings too. If you’re looking to order in, Just Pizza does them quite well, too.

All this wing talk has me thinking that we should totally take a KegWorks field trip to the Wing Festival this year! http://www.buffalowing.com/

Ah yes, good call, Deron! An Allentown fav :)

Speaking of Allentown, if you two change your mind and decide to head to the Queen City tonight after all, I’ll be at Staples!
