Fee Brothers Aztec Chocolate Bitters has Arrived!

Monday, July 13th, 2009 by Hannah

Fee Aztec Chocolate BittersUnveiled late last week at Tails of the Cocktail 2009 is Fee Brothers’ newest bitters creation - Aztec Chocolate Bitters - a sublime blend of bittersweet chocolate and a hint of spicy heat. This bitters can heighten your experience in almost any cocktail, especially those based on dark spirits, like rum or whiskey. A must-have new bitters for any bartender, mixologist or cocktail connoisseur.

I’m a firm believer that chocolate can and should be enjoyed all throughout the year, but after tasting this bitters, thoughts of warm (read: not straight up or on the rocks), bourbon-based cocktails filled my head—all the types of cocktails I love to imbibe in during fall and winter. And so I bring you…

Bittersweet Autumn
1½ oz bourbon (I suggest Makers or, for a sweeter drink, Basil Hayden’s)
¾ oz sweet vermouth
¾ oz Campari
2 dashes Aztec Chocolate Bitters
Whiskey-soaked cherry, for garnish

Add all ingredients to a mixing glass and stir. Serve in a martini glass, garnished with a drunken cherry. Enjoy!

Now, I’m sure that all of you creative types can come up with a slew of other ways to enjoy Fee Brothers newest bitters. When you do, make sure to tell us all about it so we can try your concoctions too.

Cheers!
