What Makes a Manly Cocktail: Part 2
This week Liz sent me an article on drinking manly drinks. Well maybe not just about manly drinks, but about how your grandmother probably drinks better than you do. This got me thinking about the wedding I’m going to this weekend. How can I possibly order a drink at a fancy establishment without
seeming like I’m either not cultured or not manly enough. I’ve always liked a good microbrew, but I’m less adept at ordering cocktails. I’ve tried a few things out with some fantastic tonics and ginger beers, but I’m really trying to branch out and try something new. A few suggestions have been to
- Try something with rye
- Dark and Stormy
- Just a plain martini
- Manhattan
- Just get a beer and get over it
Let me know what you guys think, so I don’t look like an idiot this weekend.
Thanks.

None of the above. Order a nice 12-15 year Scotch and be done with it. I’ll even give you permission to order it on the rocks. (sigh) ;)

I know, I know… but I was just saying… even that would be more acceptable that those other “options” [smirk] In other words, I’d take a watered-down Scotch over most of those any day.
HAHAHAHA

OH, you mean Malibu and cranberry isn’t an “acceptable” drink for a man? HAHAHAHAHAHA!

(((THUD))) Malibu and cran! HA!
I don’t know… that might look a little butch compared to a Pink Squirrel… (To quote the SF Style Forum, “It’s a pink chocolate-almond drink with a splash of cream but when ordered by a man it comes with a revolver with a single bullet in the chamber served as a back.”)
‘Nuff said…
