I only just rolled back into town from the Ellicottville Oktoberfest – which was a blast, by the way – but was, in my mind, missing one important thing… German food! I went expecting to be surrounded with sausages, sauerkraut, potato pancakes and the like but found vendors selling foods you find at most fairs and carnivals.
Only one vendor had anything German at all, at least that I found – a sauerkraut covered hot dog. It wasn’t German sausage, but it had to do.
Perhaps Fritz and I will look into setting up a stand next year to fill in the gap :) All the same though, it was most definitely a fun time and I look forward to next year.
Anyone head out to Oktoberfest celebrations in your necks of the woods? Tell us about them!
