Best Cherries Ever
Tuesday, December 29th, 2009 by LizThere are some things in life that you must experience for yourself. When it comes to such things, the most skillfully detailed description doesn’t even come close.
For writers, it’s quite a challenge to describe things of this caliber because no matter how hard you try, you still feel like you’re doing this marvel (whatever it might be) an injustice.
Luxardo Gourmet Maraschino Cherries are one of those things. I couldn’t understand why anyone in their right mind would pay $17 for a jar of cherries, until I had one.
When our new Urban Moonshine Maple Bitters came in last week, we decided to try Maple Manhattans and Dave let us use the Luxardo cherries. The drink was fantastic but all I could think about was the cherry. Hannah and I both snuck a couple straight from the jar and I swear they melt in your mouth. I realize that it sounds kind of ridiculous but one little Italian cherry can take you to a very happy place.
I know that a lot of pastry chefs buy our 12-pound can and I’ve decided that I need to find out where they work. I love my sweets and I’d be willing to bet that these scrumptious candied delicacies turn everything they touch into something delightful.
I realize that I probably sound like a nut rambling on about cherries but I’m serious, you can’t possibly understand until you try them for yourself.

Awesome. I once purchased a jar of gourmet cherries from William Sonoma with a gift certificate – that was the only way I was going to pay $12.00 for a small jar of cherries for my bourbon. They were amazing and NOTHING like the jarred cherries in regular markets. They’ve since discontinued selling them so I REALLY appreciate this information.
Thanks!
