The very first time I shot-gunned a beer I ended up wearing more than I actually got down my gullet. Subsequent attempts proved no different result. People who know me now probably can’t conceive of the me of my past, the person I was. Back then, I did more than my share of weekends in a hazy blur of dice, shot glasses, earsplitting music and parts I can’t remember at all. Whether drinking with my comrades-in-arms at the barracks or in the crush of a packed club out on the town, I have seen many an empty bottle, can, or glass in my time.

I’ve since shelved that part of my life and have traded the "race to get shitfaced" for a slower, more controlled emersion into buzzdom, resulting in actual enjoyment (not to mention more money in my wallet). Don’t misunderstand me, I’m still wholeheartedly impressed by those that can and do slam pitchers or pints in one breath, but I know it’s not for me. Of course, I’m never quite sure if (or how) I should actually compliment someone with that particular talent.

After seeing this video in all its impressive glory, I’m also wondering if the bowl of peanuts at the bar went down just as easy.
