The Bigger They Are, the Harder They Fall

Thursday, May 6th, 2010 by Hannah

Anheuser-Busch InBev, the world’s largest brewer, saw profits fall 34% so far in 2010, according to Associated Press. This drops their profit to $475 Million as of Q1. Craft beer sales, however, are projecting to continue to rise through the year.

Boston Beer, makers of Sam Adams, for example, have seen an increase in sales of 16% in Q1 this year. That brings sales to $94 Million, according to Reuters.

Cheers to Boston Beer and the microbrew industry as a whole; beer sales around the world have fallen stagnant yet the companies that are seeing increased profit are the little guys. I don’t know about you, but that makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside.
