Video: Oh Canada – Played The Molson Way
Thursday, June 28th, 2012 by Liz Chatterton
KegWorks is based in Buffalo, NY – a border town. I live about 10 minutes away from the Peace Bridge, and Canadian culture and influence are unavoidable. In fact, I’m pretty sure I know the Canadian national anthem just as well (if not better) than most Canadians.
That being said, I think I may have enjoyed this video of the Canadian National Canthem just as much as a true Canadian would. What is a "Canthem" you ask? It’s an anthem played on "instruments" that are made entirely out of vessles related to beer drinking – like bottles, cans, and kegs.
In the comments on YouTube someone suggests using this as a Molson television advertisement and I must say I agree. It’s good stuff.
In fact, I think I like this one even better than the low-budget Hey, Pass Me a Beer video we just posted about – it’s more musical, more patriotic, and more Canadian.
Well done Molson, well done.
Thanks to our friend Brian Wright for finding this gem. He thinks we should do "God Bless America" with craft beer. Sounds like a great idea to us.
