4 Reasons This Pumpkin Keg Picture Pisses Me Off
Thursday, October 4th, 2012 by Liz ChattertonThis photo has been circulating the interwebs like crazy and while I’m all for "tapping a piece of produce" I just have to voice a few complaints I have about this particular image and its validity (or lack thereof).

1. That pumpkin is way too small – and by "way too small" I mean it’s practically a gourd – it’s not even as tall as the glass when you take away the stem
2. That pumpkin was never cut into, which means it was never hallowed out, which means it’s full of stringy goop and seeds – not that beer they’re pretending was just poured from it
3. The tap is smack dab in the middle – which means it would have to be at least half full (at all times) to pour anything
4. Because the pumpkin is so small (see point 1) I am rather confident that if you pulled on that tap handle with any reasonable amount of force, the whole thing would flip/tip right over
Moral of the story? If you’re going to write about tapping a pumpkin and you want to look legit, actually tap a pumpkin. Also, don’t believe everything you see on the Internet.

Cheer(s) up Liz,
Don’t think of the ‘punkin as half full but half empty :-)
I didnt look at it as a knockoff of the summer watermelon/ punch container with tap idea that the wee pumpkin is actually holding the liquid.
I envision the pumpkin hollowed from below (often do this with my carvings) and startegically covering a mini tower (tap screwed thru the side) attached to the table with a feed line for a keg running through the table bottom.
