In search of some fine German posters to spruce up the old man cave? Why not put the legendary Reinheitsgebot Beer Purity Law on display?
A replica of the original document from 1516, it’s printed in German on antiqued parchment paper. We’re not translators but we have it on good authority that somewhere in there it says “We wish to emphasize that in future in all cities, markets and in the country, the only ingredients used for the brewing of beer must be Barley, Hops and Water. Whosoever knowingly disregards or transgresses upon this ordinance, shall be punished by the Court authorities’ confiscating such barrels of beer, without fail.”
We may not know much German but we do know that this poster is the perfect way to pay tribute to a fine piece of brewing history.
