You'll recognize the old fashioned root beer flavor in these dry and herbal cocktail bitters made in Austin, Texas.

    Overview

If you're a fan of old fashioned root beer, chances are you'll love these sarsaparilla-flavored cocktail bitters from Bad Dog Bar Craft.

Cocktail bitters are spirits infused with flavors, typically from plants, fruits, or spices. They date as far back as the early 1800's, originally used to assist with digestion and cure stomach aches. Infusing your cocktail recipes with just a few drops of bitters will give them an additional level of flavor depth. Many bitters are also renowned for their ability to cure hangovers.

Like root beer, sarsaparilla root tastes of licorice and wintergreen, and has a pleasant medicinal quality. All of those elements, plus the addition of dry, herbal tannins, are present in this unique bitters recipe produced in Austin, Texas.

The experts at Bad Dog Bar Craft devised these sarsaparilla root beer bitters to act as a “cocktail girdle”- firming up a drink's flabby edges and tightening up any errant sweetness, all while imparting subtle, novel flavor. They recommend pairing them with sweet Italian vermouth, Armagnac, whiskey, or gin. Of course, it's never a bad idea to experiment with your liquor of choice.

Very unique! Only bitters that truly capture root beer flavor
Love this as a great variation for manhattans. I use it with my choice of bourbon and Liquor 43 and it drinks like a root beer float. Highly recommend if you want something different.
