This sturdy and impressive Metal Absinthe Fountain is a like time machine that can transport you to France in the late 19th century.

Get the feel of sitting in a French bistro in the late 19th century, during La Belle Epoque, with this beautiful handcrafted metal absinthe fountain. The design is a reproduction of the fountains used during this time period.

The absinthe fountain is an integral part of the ritualistic absinthe louche experience. It allows the user to control the flow of the water as it drips over the sugar cube and in to the glass below. The metal absinthe fountain also takes some of the mess and guesswork out off trying to pour water from a carafe or glass over the sugar and spoon.
The bowl of the fountain is made from mouth-blown glass and holds 6 ½ cups of liquid (1.5 liters). The base, faucets and lid are made from chrome-plated brass. The lid also features the classic acorn top.

Impress your friends, guests or bar patrons when you perform the absinthe louche ritual like a pro, especially after you read our 4-step guide on how to louche absinthe.

    • Reproduction of vintage 19th century Belle Epoque fountain
    • Handmade of brass and finished with a chrome plating and mouth blown glass
    • The top cover has the classic “acorn” top and is removable to add ice water into the glass bowl
    • Fountain has two metal faucets, accommodating one to two glasses at the same time
    • Metal faucets operate independently allowing a very small drip to a small stream
    • Proper use consists of pouring an ounce of absinthe into an absinthe glass, then placing an absinthe spoon on top of the glass and a sugar cube atop the spoon
    • The lid of the fountain is removed and fresh water and ice is added into the glass bowl
    • The spigot is slightly turned and the ice water is slowly dripped from the fountain onto the piece of sugar
    • The cold sugar water then drips from the spoon into the glass of absinthe releasing oils and perfuming the air with fennel, grand wormwood and anise
    • The combination also begins to turn milky white in color, as the water mixes with the anise
    • Refresh water before each use
    • Drink ratio varies from 1 part absinthe, to between 3 to 5 parts water, depending on one’s preference
    • Simple assembly required

Great addition - flow problem with one spigot, though
This fountain is a work of art. It really looks great. It is all heavy metal (chrome-plated brass) and glass - not a bit of annoying plastic in it. However, one of my two spigots barely even drips. I will have to try to resolve that somehow. On the first try (with the good spigot), my serving of absinthe turned out perfectly using a slow dripping flow onto the cube and spoon. This fountain looks just like a four spigot one pictured in the Wikipedia absinthe article.

This looks exactly like the absinthe fountain of the Wikipedia article. It's not made of plastic, either.
