1. Monty Python’s Holy Grail Ale
Produced by Black Sheep Brewery in North Yorkshire, Holy Grail Ale is brewed with Maris Otter malt and a mixture of old English Hop varieties, tempered over burning witches.
2. Harry Potter Porter of the Phoenix
Any Potter fan who’s made it through the first five years of Hogwarts – either through the pages or the big screen – knows that the 5th in the 7-book/movie series is titled “Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix,” so the play on words here is pretty cool. Unfortunately, this one’s just a concept, but who knows? Maybe someday. Check out the other six hypothetical Harry labels here.
3. Truffle Shuffle Stout
Back in May of 2010, Astoria Brewing Company and Fort George brewery brewed the Truffle Shuffle Stout to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the cult classic, The Goonies. The beer was brewed using ground black truffle mushrooms, lots of specialty malts, and plenty of Goonies one-liners. It was a one weekend deal, so if you missed out, you missed out.
4. Hoptimus Prime
Ruckus Brewing put this Transformers-themed, double IPA together using five different hop varieties, three different types of malts, and a two week dry hopping process. Needless to say, Hoptimus Prime has a HUGE amount of hop flavor and aroma.
5. Imperial Stout Trooper
Brewed in a brewery not too far away and not too long ago, this Star Wars-themed Russian Imperial Stout has strong flavors of chocolate and coffee, ringing in at 8.5% ABV.
6. Duff Beer
Duff beer is easily the most iconic animated brew from the long-running cartoon series, The Simpsons. Florida Beer Company brewed this bad boy for the Universal Studios Simpsons theme park expansion. The beer, created by the same chef who did the Harry Potter Butterbeer, is available exclusively at Moe’s Tavern inside Universal Studios.
