A Cupcake-Inspired Cocktail

Rose Water Honey Cupcake

Yesterday I enjoyed a most interesting cupcake from Dolci, like one I’ve never had. It was concocted of rose water and honey, with billowy pink buttercream frosting. One whiff had me feeling like I was walking through a midsummer rose garden. Tantalizingly different, I was immediately inspired to create a cocktail that conjured up similar feelings. I present to you Summer Romance.

Summer Romance
1 tbsp honey
2 tbsp hot water
2 oz vanilla vodka
3 drops rose water
Rose petal, for garnish

Put the honey and hot water into your cocktail shaker and give it a good stir to dilute it for mixing. Add the vanilla vodka and rose water, and give another good stir. Carefully add ice cubes, 4 or 5 should do it, and shake well. Strain into a cocktail glass and garnish with a rose petal.

A walk through a rose garden with someone you dig, in a glass.

Krampus says “enough of this soft edged forth ‘n’ back — I suggest a nice romantic cocktail. The recipe is three HUMAN fingers of scots wisky, in a glass. DRINK!”

Fezziwig counters “Oh my! This sounds like a Turkish delight cocktail! Ah lokum, the soft and delicious candy of my youth, spent as a sort of scamp in the bazaars of Istanbul…”
