Red Stripe beer’s latest campaign is entitled "Hooray" and it involves the Red Stripe Reggae Orchestra celebrating little "hooray" moments in life with rhythmic music and clever lyrics.
In this thirty-second spot, the guys interrupt a business meeting to celebrate "Big Word Usage."
The word the gentleman doing the presentation uses is "equanimity" which is defined as "mental calmness, composure, and evenness of temper, especially in a difficult situation."
Personally, my favorite big word is "ubiquitous" which means "present, appearing, or found everywhere." I’m not a huge fan of Red Stripe but it would be really cool if every time I used it, a group of French-speaking gentlemen appeared with accordions, violins, and a celebratory bottle of Unibroue. Just a thought…
