This heavy-hitting cocktail was first mixed up on Leap Day back in 1928, at the Savoy Hotel in London. February 29th comes around just once every four years, so why not celebrate by imbibing in something worthy of the occasion? Just be forewarned, more than one may knock you on your ass.
Leap Year Cocktail Recipe
2 oz gin
½ oz Grand Marnier
½ oz sweet vermouth
¼ oz fresh lemon juice
Twist of lemon, for garnish
Add first four ingredients to a mixing glass with ice. Stir well and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with the twist of lemon and enjoy! For an extra kick of flavor, add 2 drops of The Bitter End Thai Cocktail Bitters. The touch of mint, galangal, lemongrass and kaffir lime revives the Leap Year Cocktail for the 21st century.
