Chicken Soup for the Drinker’s Soul

Chicken Soup for the Drinker's Soul

Okay, so we’re a day late, but oh well – this is worth sharing. Yesterday, November 12th, was Chicken Soup for the Soul Day.  I’m super serious. It seems like every day is devoted to something, and yesterday was solely dedicated to the inspirational book series Chicken Soup for the Soul.

I’m sure most, if not all of you have been given, gave, or read one of these books at some point in your lives. They’re actually quite nice. But unfortunately, there’s no Chicken Soup for the Beer Geek’s Soul, or the Wine Lover’s Soul, or the Cocktail Connoisseur’s Soul. So, today, I bring you a series of 10 drinking-related quotes and quips to warm your soul. Enjoy!

  1. “I feel sorry for people who don’t drink. When they wake up in the morning, that’s as good as they’re going to feel all day. ”  – Frank Sinatra

  2. “Sometimes when I reflect back on all the beer I drink, I feel ashamed. Then I look into the glass and think about the workers in the brewery and all of their hopes and dreams. If I didn’t drink this beer, they might be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. Then I say to myself, ‘It is better that I drink this beer and let their dreams come true than be selfish and worry about my liver.’ ” – Jack Handy

  4. “Ho! Ho! Ho! To the bottle I go
To heal my heart and drown my woe
Rain may fall, and wind may blow
And many miles be still to go
But under a tall tree will I lie
And let the clouds go sailing by”
