According to an article in the UK Times Online, a nutritionist claims to have created a cocktail that prevents the next day’s hangover. And he’s not talking about the Bloody Mary we drink once we actually are hungover.
Apparently an Indian nutritional expert, by the name of Gurpareet Bains, has discovered an alcoholic concoction that actually wards off the headache, dry mouth and upset stomach that might otherwise hit the day after indulging, while still causing inebriation if it’s so desired.
He describes it as a “Christmas spice-infused acai and pomegranate cocktail” whose combination of ingredients will not only give the imbiber a buzz (it’s 40% ABV) but also keeps the consumer feeling great the next day. I’m not entirely sure which “Christmas spices” are used but I have a few guesses. To be honest, packed with all of those antioxidants from the acai and pomegranate, it seems maybe he’s actually onto something here.
Here is the recipe, if you’d like to give it a go:
1 oz Christmas spice-infused vodka
½ oz Cointreau
1 oz acai juice
11 oz pomegranate juice
Fresh mint sprig, for garnish
Stick of cinnamon, for garnish
If anyone tries this, let me know how it goes!
