Count Down to Christmas With A Beer-Filled Calendar

Some of you might remember my blog post from last year around this time about constructing a beer-filled Advent calendar. That was such a hit, I thought I’d do something similar this year, since the countdown to Christmas begins on Sunday.

Look, even if you’re the biggest scrooge of them all, you can’t deny all of the joy that this season brings. Take away Santa Claus, all the presents, and any religious tradition, and it’s still a time of year when people are more joyful, giving, and appreciative of what they have.

At the very least, there’s beer. All of those wonderful holiday beers that we look forward to each year. So, if you’re looking for a fun way to count down the days to Christmas, and want to include beer, I’ve gathered four methods for building an Advent calendar filled with that sweet sweet holiday nectar. Check ’em out:

1. The Real Deal

Original Advent CalendarThis is the calendar I used in my blog post last year, and I call it the real deal, because it’s quite a bit of work. But it’s definitely worth it if you’re willing to put some time in. Check out detailed directions from Intructables here.

2. Refrigerator Calendar

This one’s pretty simple. All you’ll need is 25 of your favorite beers, some paper (Post-it notes would work), and a red and green marker. Just put the milk and eggs elsewhere for December!

3. The Can Tree Calendar

This one probably fits under the “real deal” title as well, as it seems like some work, but again, I think it would be worth it. You’d need some tubing (empty containers maybe), construction paper, glue, wrapping paper, and of course, some beer!

4. Brown Paper Packages Tied Up With String

This one seems super simple. You’ll need a box, your favorite brews, some brown wrapping paper, a bit of red ribbon, a red marker, and some tags. Done.

Enjoy everyone, and I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
