It had been two years since I headed to the Erie County Fair, which began just this past week. The last time I was there, I’d happened upon a treat that I’d never before enjoyed, the delicious wine slushy. The moment I was invited for another fair adventure this year, my mind went straight to these frosty, smooth, thirst quenching treats. I couldn’t wait to enjoy another.
In 2009 when I had visited the fair, people were wandering around, refreshing wine slushes in hand. This year, however, any alcoholic beverages purchased had to be consumed within the confines of where they were purchased. So, when you find yourself jonesing for one like I was, make sure you have enough time to sit, relax and enjoy it properly. No wine slush patron should have to endure brain freeze.
If you haven’t yet had the opportunity to try a sangria wine slushy at the fair, or anywhere else for that matter, I highly recommend you do. They’re flowing all week here in Western New York. In fact, I may have to go back and have another … that and a corn dog or two.
