Back in December, Jay Brooks of the the Brookston Beer Bulletin (one of my favorite beer blogs) published a blog post on these Mockingbird beer bottles.
According to the post, a Brooklyn-based designer and advertising artist named Sam Wiley, was approached by Anheuser-Busch to create packaging for a new beer called "Mockingbird."
There’s been no real buzz about the beer, and no one’s sure if it’s actually a product of AB-InBev, but I’m in love with this design. Brooks points out that the clear glass is bad for the beer, but speaking strictly on the labels, these bottles are absolutely beautiful.
It may be another macro attempt at a "crafty" brand, and if so, they’re going in the right direction in terms of look and feel. We’ll see about taste.
