You know that old saying about things that are too good to be true? Something like, if it looks too good to be true, it probably is? Well, meet LIVR.
Supposedly the brainchild of some programmers with an appreciation for the booze life, LIVR recently made its debut at the annual SXSW festival in Austin, TX. It came complete with a slick video, a robust looking website, and all the other collateral marketing elements that lent it an air of legitimacy. It didn’t hurt that it’s an awesome, unique, hilarious idea either. People tend to want to believe that great ideas are real. But you can’t always get what you want.
As explained by Brian Barrett over at Gizmodo, LIVR was never anything more than an elaborate hoax. But as hoaxes go, it was truly glorious. Watch the video below and imagine a world where this was a real thing.
