Meet October Employee of the Month: Adam Bauer

Adam Bauer: October Employee of the Month

I’m sure many of you reading this today work for companies where there’s an Employee Recognition Program, and we here at KegWorks are no different (at least in this way). Each month, someone from KegWorks is acknowledged for their hard work with the Employee of the Month Award. They get a fancy plaque, our Rock of Awesomeness (seen below), as well as lunch on the owners and a half-day off. It’s pretty fun, and it’s a well-respected honor around the office.

Because we often get asked about the people behind the business, we figured it would be fun to profile each of the recipients on a monthly basis, and so today, we’re starting with October’s winner, Adam Bauer, our Senior Graphic Designer. If you read our emails, spend time on our website, or check out any of our print ads, then you’ve seen a lot of Adam’s work.

Learn a little more about him in our conversation below. (Sorry, ladies – he’s not single.)

Caleb: In a couple of sentences, explain what you do here at KegWorks?

Adam: I’m currently a member of the marketing team, with a focus on design and development. The core of my job consists of making sure that everything from the website to our print materials are clearly and consistently designed.

Caleb: What’s your favorite part about the job?

Adam: The people I work with. Without a doubt. Never a dull moment here.

Caleb: What’s your favorite product from KegWorks?

Adam: Spiegelau Craft Beer Tasting Kit, I’ve become a believer.

Caleb: What were you most excited about when you started working at KegWorks?

Adam: Prior to starting here, I worked mostly in ad agencies, so I helped brands grow and develop, but always from the outside. I wanted to build something from the inside, and I knew KegWorks was a great place to do that.

Caleb: What do you like most about working in Marketing and/or design?

Adam: I enjoy the “process” of creating cohesive messaging – from concept to completion.

Caleb: What was one of your favorite projects here at KegWorks?

Adam: The logo and print materials from our National Learn to Homebrew Day campaign. (Check it out below.)

Caleb: If you could have a drink with one person – alive or dead – who would it be?

Adam: Nikola Tesla – he was a genius way ahead of his time.

Caleb: What are your top three favorite movies?

Adam: Star Wars Episode V: Empire Strikes Back, Weird Science, and Around the Fire.

Caleb: Favorite band at the moment?

Adam: Harry Nilsson. I rediscovered the “5th Beatle” a few years back.

Caleb: You’re on your deathbed and you can only have one drink; what would it be?

Adam: Beak & Skiff 1911 Hopped Hard Cider

Caleb: What’s your favorite local brewery?

Adam: Southern Tier Brewing

So, there you have it. Now you know quite a bit about one of the faces behind the KegWorks brand. For anyone interested in learning more about the people here, keep your eyes peeled for our profile next month!
