I’m a big fan of the Brewing News regional papers but today I realized that I’m so used to picking up the old fashioned print edition, that I’ve neglected to check out their website – until now.
The coolest part of their online arsenal is definitely the Good Beer Maps section, complete with printable PDF craft beer guides and maps, broken down by region and state.
If you’re planning a trip and worried about where you’ll be able to find good beer while you’re away, these guides can help. If you want to plan an entire trip dedicated to good beer, they’re a must. I don’t doubt that you’re dedicated but you might want to check to make sure you’re not missing out on any of the best beer bars, restaurants and stores in your area.
Here’s how it works:
1. Visit the "Directory"
2. Select your region (I picked Great Lakes)
3. Download the PDF file
4. Check out the map on the first page to see all of the breweries, beer bars and restaurants, homebrew shops and beer stores
5. Consult the following pages for all of the details, names, addresses and phone numbers
6. Hit the road (with a designated drive of course)
These maps make it easy to plan, they’re printable and there are even notes sections to jot down any additional information you need. The only problem is that after discovering these, I’m itching to plan a cross country trip more than ever before.
