Poll: Favorite Beers for Autumn

As temperatures begin to fall a bit now that Summer has come to a close, people tend to switch up from the witbier and kolsch styles to brews with a bit more malt and body. Not all people, of course. This is just a generalization. Whichever way you drink, I’m interested in your points of view.

I’ve been digging “herfst bok/bock” beers in the past few weeks. I’m not sure where they fit into the normal taxonomy, but they’re seasonal and local and tasty!

Knile – I usually think of bocks during springtime but you’re in the Netherlands – are there any other seasonal styles out there we should know about?

So, what are we thinking here. Those who know are heavily into ales and subspecies of ale. But aren’t we missing the whole category of lagers, for those who like what they like all year round?

Sean – thanks for commenting 🙂 Actually, both doppelbocks and Oktoberfest / Marzen styles are lagers.

Right. As @htcdesign pointed out, beers like Sam Adams Octoberfest are lagers … I’ve had that before but it’s been years. Will try it again. Thanks for the Tweets! Cheers.

How about Saisons and Fresh Hop Ales? Oh and California Common/Steam beer!

Alex- sounds delicious! I could go for a saison right now!
