According to a commercial promoting the show, Calagione promises it to be “a different kind of beer show because we make a different kind of beer…. Nothing’s really fabricated in this show. They’re just trying to show the creative side of brewing. It shows the craft brewing renaissance, which is an exciting thing, and it’s getting stronger every day.”
If it succeeds in airing as Calagione explains, it may be a refreshing change from the reality shows that thrive off of creating interpersonal drama and instead, just focus on great beer and the history of brewing in countries around the world.
The first season, which is scheduled to begin on Sunday, November 21 at 10pm ET, brings Calagione to Italy, New Zealand, Peru, Egypt, Germany, Finland, Maine, New York and Washington DC. According to Clark Bunting, president of Discovery Channel, Brew Masters “unlocks a fascinating history of beer making, showcasing the ingenuity and passion behind our love affair with those alluring suds and how it played a role in building civilizations.” [source: thegurdontimes.com]
I don’t know about you, but I love Dogfish Head’s style. I’ll most definitely give this a watch.
