Summoning Summer: Charmane’s Star Cocktail Recipe

Pulled straight from the pages of Imbibe Magazine, this cocktail recipe comes to us from Greg Seider of Summit Bar in NYC. It positively screams summertime. Just thinking about sipping on this drink has reggae music running through my mind. Want a taste of utter refreshment? Make it yourself:

Charmane’s Star
2 oz vodka
1 oz fresh lime juice
¾ oz cinnamon spice agave syrup (recipe below)
2 dashes rhubarb bitters
¼” slice of cucumber
5 mint leaves
Ice cubes
Cucumber wheel, for garnish

In a cocktail shaker, muddle cucumber and mint. Add lime juice, agave syrup, rhubarb bitters vodka and ice. Shake well. Strain into and ice filled glass and garnish with a cucumber wheel.

Cinnamon Spice Agave Syrup
1 Vietnamese cinnamon stick
4 oz clear agave syrup
4 oz water

Break up cinnamon stick and combine all ingredients into a saucepan. Bring to a boil, remove from heat and let stand, covered for 30 minutes. Strain into a clean jar and keep refrigerated. Use for up to 2 months.
