This past Saturday was a BBQ and Brew event at Southern Tier Brewing Co. to benefit commercial-free Radio For the Arts (WRFA 107.9 FM in Chautauqua County).
Upon arriving, we smelled the tantalizing aroma of pig roasting, the sun was shining and everyone there seemed to be in the best of spirits – just the way a brewery picnic should be. It was our first time at Southern Tier and since it’s so close, we’ll be sure to head back soon for an actual brewery tour (we were having too much fun listening to live music to head inside for anything other than beer).
I started with some Imperial Pumking on draft. Delicious! So much so, that I had to bring home a growler of it. Full review on that coming very soon.
Margaret was enjoying the 422 Pale Wheat Ale most, an unfiltered offering that I tasted as well – very good indeed; quite refreshing. She made sure to grab a growler of that as well. After having piles of freshly roasted pork, beans and slaw, we sat back and enjoyed the music with one last pint, in the sun. Here’s a shot of Margaret doing just that:
I most definitely look forward to another trip to Southern Tier soon. We can’t wait to take an actual tour of the brewery and check out so of the beautiful lake scenery in surrounding areas. Thanks to Southern Tier Brewing Co. for a great event.
