Over the weekend I traveled to the roller coaster capital of the world, Cedar Point Amusement Park in Sandusky, Ohio. I think it’s typically a family destination, however I went with 12 of my twenty-something friends. While everyone else seemed to think that it was a great idea to add beer to the weekend equation, I had my doubts. I love beer as much as the next guy (or gal) but combining drinking and thrill rides seemed like a recipe for disaster to me. I mean, the Top Thrill Dragster coaster goes from 0 to 120 mph in less than 4 seconds and takes you 420 feet in the air via a massive hill and 270-degree spiral – who wants to be drunk for that?
I learned however that as with any drinking situation, moderation is key. We were able to enjoy a few beers in the park and a couple of cocktails in the hot tub at our hotel without a single person ever losing their lunch. Success!
The coolest part though? Upon my return I found out that Cedar Point cleans their draft beer lines with KegWorks equipment! Yep, that’s right… the cold, refreshing beers we enjoyed were poured from systems maintained with KegWorks commercial cleaning kits. Perhaps I should have asked for a discount?
