Fee Brothers takes classic aromatic bitters to the next level by aging them in freshly emptied oak barrels from Tennessee's best whiskey distillers.

    Overview

If you're looking for next-level aromatic bitters, this limited edition barrel-aged whiskey bitters formula from the experts at Fee Brothers is a must try.

Cocktail bitters are spirits infused with flavors, typically from plants, fruits, or spices. They date as far back as the early 1800's, originally used to assist with digestion and cure stomach aches. Infusing your cocktail recipes with just a few drops of bitters will give them an additional level of flavor depth. Many bitters are also renowned for their ability to cure hangovers.

Fee Brothers, located in Rochester, NY, is a fourth-generation family-owned business that began as a small saloon/delicatessen back in 1863. Today, the product list includes almost 100 drink and cocktail mix products, shipped to distributors and establishments across six continents.

It all starts with a classic recipe of rich spices, citrus oil, and bittering agents like gentian and Angostura bark. From there, the bitters are left to mature in freshly emptied oak whiskey barrels from Tennessee's best distillers. This aging process imparts a woody complexity and helps marry the bitters' disparate flavors for a softer, rounder profile.

The result is an aromatic bitters recipe that tends to have prominent cinnamon notes with hints of vanilla, pepper, and char. Of course, each annual bottling is slightly different due to differences in the aging barrels used.

No matter the vintage, these barrel-aged angostura aromatic bitters are sure to add depth to your favorite whiskey and bourbon cocktails. Try some in an Old Fashioned or Manhattan, or get creative!

Like all Fee Brothers bitters, this product comes packaged in a paper-wrapped glass bottle with a screw-top cap and dasher insert for easy, measured dispensing.

I was served this stuff at the famed Coyote Cafe in Santa Fe New Mexico years ago. I was hooked. Have been through likely two dozen bottles in past 8 years. Kegworks is the best place to buy. Cheers!

    Best Old Fashion Bitters Ever
This is really the best bitters I have ever used in a whiskey based cocktail. It is a little pricy, so I use it for special occasions or guests. I keep the less expensive fee brothers old fashion bitters for "everyday" cocktails.
