    Almost the real thing!
Almost like the old fashioned 1 qt. mild bottles of yesteryear, only difference is the neck of the bottle is not as it used to be, but the design mimics the milk bottles of old. Caps are great... snug & no leakage, even when shaking the bottle to clean with soapy water. Bottle is thick glass and clear. Libbey has been around for eons, it seems, and has always made a good glass product. The shipping was very quick, had them in just a couple of days, packed very well, and the price is fantastic! At just $5 a bottle, these are almost 1/2 of what others are charging for this style bottle, about $2 less than I have seen others charging.

Only thing missing is the Dairy markings on the bottle, and I'm sure, if I searched, I could find a decal of some old dairy that you soak and slide onto a surface to make the bottle look even more realistic.

Only real drawback is... you can't fit 4 1qt. bottles together in the door shelf of the fridge, in the same space as where that disgusting plastic 1 gallon jug used to sit.

I have had them now for a few weeks, and I love the "almost" ice cold milk that you just can't get from a plastic jug. They are easy to handle, lightweight & can grasp the bottle easily.

I would recommend both Kegworks and these bottles highly, as I am very satisfied with my purchase.

    Libby Glass Milk Bottles
I am using these bottles instead of plastic containers for juices and protein drinks. They clean easily and the sealing tops prevent contamination.

Best bottle I have found for storing raw milk
As we pick up our raw milk in a large 2 gal jar, we like to transfer to these smaller and easier-to-handle bottles. I also wanted to be able to put them in the dishwasher, and have the option to replace caps. We also needed the caps to stay on well enough to shake the milk without spilling (as the milk is non-homogenized). I've tried other bottles and brands before, but this has been the best by far! The top fits tightly without being too hard to open, and it obviously doesn't rust as metal lids can. They are great, would highly recommend!

So happy to find these glass bottles. I transfer contents of cardboard containers into these bottles and it keeps the liquids much colder then manufacturers containers. Plus, easy to see when to replace things. I love this!! If I could I would buy dairy products in glass containers. It's great for ice tea and coffee, juice, milk etc

These bottles are exactly what I was looking for. They are perfect for carrying milk, juice or other liquids. My purpose is to premix meds with the drinks making outings possible. Glass is not drop proof but plastic can be a problem getting stains and residue out especially if you have very hard water. After a while, with plastic, not even vinegar works.

    are these bottles square?
    Katherine F on Apr 19, 2018
BEST ANSWER: They are square, but the corners are smoothly rounded, so the sides don't meet at a 90 degree angle in the corners. The would fit in a square hole.
    Do I need extra lids?
    A shopper on Jan 9, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Purchase extra lids only to have a spare on hand in the event you loose the original that comes with the bottle, but it is not necessary really. The lids fit well and should last, not forever, but for quite awhile. As this is my first time with this item, I can say that all depends on how often you use the bottle, how many times the lid is removed and replaced, and how the lid is handled when popping it off and on. Obviously, the lid will age & temperature changes affecting the material, and with use, probably eventually may stretch because it is a hard form of rubber/plastic. It won't last forever, but should last awhile. Perhaps purchase a couple of spares, to have on hand, and replace as needed, to avoid having to wait on having a new one shipped. You will have the bottle still usable immediately, and can order replacements of the spare(s) used.
I love they style of these bottles. But I'd like to refill and press new caps on them so they don't pop when filled with a carbonated beverage. Does anyone know If they sell just the white caps?
    springman on Jun 2, 2016
BEST ANSWER: To answer your question in ONE word... YES. You can buy the caps separately, THESE CAPS, if not from Kegworks, I HAVE seen them for sale at other retailers.... I believe Amazon, but check Kegworks to be sure they do carry them, and they will probably cost less here too.

My recommendation though.... I WOULD NOT use these bottles for carbonated beverages! I wash these bottles, by hand, with a bit of liquid detergent and some very hot water.... and shake them vigourously, which does cause a bit of pressure inside, which is evident when I remove the cap to rinse. There is a slight POP when removing the cap, caused by the detergent & shaking of the bottle. Because of THIS slight pressure caused by just a bit of liquid detergent, HOT water & shaking, I would assume that, under carbonation, that pressure would probably be an even higher level, and these caps, or ANY cap, that cannot be securely attached; i.e. a screw cap, would not provide a sufficent seal for the pressure of carbonated beverages. I don't believe THESE bottles, particularly with snap on caps, are designed to withstand the pressure of carbonated beverages, and I WOULD NOT recommend them to be used for that purpose.

Perhaps, IF you can find a cap that HAS some sort of "locking" mechanism that would SECURE the cap to the ridge of the bottle neck.. similiar to the ring that sucures the lid of a 55 gallon drum, that would then provide a secure seal, but I have not seen any of that type.

Hope this information is useful & helpful.

    Happy Hunting
