For your draft beer system to work up to its full potential, you can’t take any small beer faucet parts for granted. That includes the tiny but important sleeve for the beer shank.
The metal sleeve keeps the coupling nut firmly in place. You slide it on to the shank on the outside of the fridge before you attach the nut to the beer faucet tap.
If the sleeve becomes worn down or get lost, your draft faucet will not perform as it should. So replacing your sleeve is a small investment that pays big dividends.

Tap Sleeve Hold Everything Together
This little sleeve broke just before our Oktoberfest but the replacement fit perfectly and saved the day. I bought an extra to have on hand incase it happens again.
