    What kind of metal is it?

    BEST ANSWER: It is magnetic so it has to be steel, although it looks like it may be a galvanized finish. Possibly could be a low grade stainless. I think it could rust, as others I own have. You could spray it with aluminum paint to stall rusting if you want.
