Featuring all stainless-steel beer contact, this specialty keg coupler allows you to dispense German draft beers that use the A System keg valve. Some of the highlights include Warsteiner, Hacker-Pschorr, Paulaner, Spaten, but there are many more!

    Overview

German beers are in a class of their own. So it’s only fitting that they’d call for unique draft beer equipment. This slider-style beer coupler is made for the German A System keg valve. This beer coupler comes complete with US standard output fittings and an A system input for an easy connection to your existing keg.

On any draft beer system, the coupler, or keg tap, allows the gas tank to supply pressurized CO2 into the keg. You attach the bottom of the coupler to the keg valve, the gas line to the side hose nipple, and the beer line on top of the coupler. When in use, the result is beer being pushed up the beer line toward the draft faucet.

With a body made from nickel-plated brass, this A System coupler has a 304 stainless steel probe – the part that is inserted inside the keg. Every part of this coupler that comes into contact with your beer is made of stainless-steel. This high-end material ensures durable performance and a high-quality pour with no added metallic taste.

This 100% stainless-steel contact A System coupler will fit many German beers, including Warsteiner, Hacker-Pschorr, Paulaner, Spaten, and a number of German-made pilsners. If you’re looking to serve Beck’s or St. Pauli Girl, you’ll actually need a European Sankey (S System) coupler instead. If you’re unsure of which system your German beer uses, look it up using our complete keg coupler list:

Click here for a complete list of beers that can be tapped by this A system coupler.

This German beer keg tap slides on for a quick and easy installation. Its high-quality design makes it a great choice for both home and commercial bars.

Please note: A-system couplers are taller than a standard US Sankey D-System coupler. To avoid clearance issues or line kinking, we recommend using a 90 degree keg coupler elbow (sold separately).

    Worked Great
Bought this to get into a keg of Bitburger my wife bought me. YUM! if you are buying this for a store bought kegorator then you should order the stainless 90 degree adapter at the same time. The euro kegs can be taller and the last thing you want is to tap your keg and realize it wont fit in your fridge.

    Epic Fail
The product is fine but I had no idea that my keg with the coupler installed would not fit into my Nostalgia Electrics kegerator. Did not really want to buy another fridge.

    Warsteiner Keg Tap
I'm discouraged that there are so many different different taps required for the various kegs. This one works very well for the Warsteiner Keg. I left the durability open as this is the first time I've used this tap. I can only wait and see over time how long it will last.

It didn't work for me because of the larger keg it wouldn't fit in my 28 inch inside height. Maybe I can get a shorter keg.

So far so good, got this so I could buying German beer kegs and it's working so far on the first one. Only real complaint was that it took a lot of force to tap the first keg. Will see if this continues or if it gets easier.

    BEST ANSWER: Hi Sean,

    Width: 3"
    Length (barb to handle): 6.75"

    Cheers!
Different fittings from the D-type. Before I cut lines and install new fittings which part of the coupler gets the Co2 and which line goes to the beer output on the A-type?
keg man on Dec 18, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Hi John, the beer comes out from the top and CO2 is pushed into the keg from the side outlet. The fittings on both the beer and air side are actually the same between different types of couplers so no need to cut new air line and add new fittings. The difference between coupler types is the probe that engages the keg. Cheers!
Will this work with keg wine?
    A shopper on May 6, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The type of coupler you need for kegged wine depends on the type of keg that the vineyard uses. Most U.S. kegged wine would use a US Sankey - D Coupler. You want to make sure you go will a stainless steel coupler to prevent corrosion from the acid in the wine. Your best bet is to check with the winery to confirm the keg type they use so that you can purchase the correct coupler. Cheers!

Is there supposed to be a check valve (beer side) in this coupler?
    A shopper on May 5, 2017
BEST ANSWER: all coupler's are the same, only the way you attach them to the keg is different.
there is a plastic ball in there, don't know if you call this a check valve.
keg works sells that staff they should know.

BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question.
