    Unique and fun
This is a great cork remover. Easy to use and is fun to use. I didn't count how many corks it removed but it was probably close to the 50 as advertised. I have had it for a couple of years and just reordered new co2 canister. Just pull out the old one and up in the new! Great gift for someone who loves wine!

    when all else fails!
Standard corkscrew openers are okay for fake cork and new corks. But, if you are uncorking a decent 10-15 year old wine (or, older) chances are the cork will crumble with these.
However, over the past 10-20 years (more or less) Cork Pop is flawless! (Even if someone had tried with el-cheapo unless they had absolute destroyed the cork - then you'll need a screen to pour through!)

we have many older bottles of wine which sometimes have corks that are difficult to extract and this is a perfect solution.

Once you get use to this, you'll never want to use another opener. I like better than the newer model with embedded foil cutter.

Does it make a loud popping sound when the cork is removed? The place I work at frowns upon a loud cork removal.

BEST ANSWER: For average recent wines (2014-now) sold in restaurants and for home use I would recommend your usual handheld screw-type opener.
The value of the CorkPop (and, it is worth every penny!) lies in the really good, old wines - with some of them the corks have dried out a little and use of the common corkscrew results is lots of cork pieces in a $60-90 bottle of wine - usually not acceptable (and, can ruin your tip). If the wine is over $100 don't even mess around with any opener except CorkPop.
I am not a wine-snob but what I have said is what I have experienced. Yes, there is a "pop" due to the pressure used to expel the cork ( think Champagne but not as loud). Tell your table this is much preferred to having to drink your wine thru your teeth to filter out the cork bits. This explanation should increase your tip.
