Straight out of a French bistro in the late 19th century, this Porcelain Absinthe Saucer will stand out the next time you serve the “Green Fairy” to your friends or patrons. These saucers had two purposes during that era, the first was to serve as a coaster and the second was to indicate the price of absinthe to the customer. The patron would then pay their tab by leaving money inside the coaster.
This absinthe saucer is made from high quality porcelain. The rim and pinwheel lines are hand-painted while the franc mark is printed into the bottom of the saucer. Both the lines and text are fired into the saucer and will not fade with use.
