The retainer for the ball check valve is a small keg coupler part that you'll want a spare of - it's small enough that you may lose it but vitally important to pouring your beer correctly.
This check ball valve, or check ball retainer, fits a standard "D" system Sankey keg coupler. It sits above the check ball (an actual little ball) and holds it in place inside the coupler. These valuable draft beer parts allow proper flow through your system by preventing back flow after the beer has left the coupler.

Does NOT fit Domestic "D" System Sankey Couplers. It is too small
NOT for Sankey couplers.
The diameter is a lot smaller than the original check ball retainer in my coupler. It is a VERY loose fit, I am disappointed that this is listed for Sankey kegs.

Retainer didn't fit
The retainer and check ball are as expected in terms of material and quality. The problem is the retainer piece doesn't fit into the couplers (and I have a Sankey coupler system). The ball is the correct size.
