This steel tank is the economical and safe choice for storing the gas required for serving draught Guinness from a kegerator.

    Overview

To achieve the smooth-tasting, creamy head that Guinness is known for, you’ll need a special 75% Nitrogen/25% CO2 gas blend in your kegerator. That’s where this gas tank comes in.

The Nitrogen Gas tank is specifically made for serving Guinness in your home or office kegerator. Made from steel, this tank is the strong, safe, and economical solution for storing the high-pressure nitrogen gas blend. The tank holds up to 20 cubic feet, which can be used to dispense 3-4 half barrel kegs of beer.

Before you order this item, we recommend you call your local gas dealer and ask about the availability of the mixed gas you’ll need (75% nitrogen, 25% CO2). Also check on their tank spec requirements for mixed gas filling, including size (cubic footage), rating (i.e. 2015), and type of valve head used (CO2 or nitrogen).

Please note: Due to federal regulations, we cannot ship this tank filled. In other words, when you receive this tank it will be EMPTY.

How much does it weigh full?

BEST ANSWER: This is an indirect answer. I bought the Nitrogen tank for my first Nitro beer. When I took it into my local welding shop to get it filled, they suggested "beer gas" (75% Nitrogen/25% CO2). This allows for some carbonation in addition to the Nitro you expect in a Nitro beer. The point is - they put beer gas in a standard CO2 tank that uses a CO2 regulator. The point is, I ended up trading it for a CO2 cylinder, so I don't have answer to your question about weight. I thought it would be worthwhile to reply though because if you were ready to keg your first Nitro beer you might consider the beer gas solution.

I used it to Nitrogen-ate my first Coffee Stout and it was phenomenal. Some of the information on going Nitro is a little confusing. I used beer gas and a beer faucet designed for a nitro beers and was very happy. I still have the regulator for Nitrogen that I bought, I will probably try going 100% nitrogen when the tank runs out, just for a comparison, but it may be a while.

    Good Luck!
How tall is this tank? (Nitrogen Gas Tank - 20 Cubic Foot Steel) I have 19" clearance in kegerator for a nitrogen tank.

BEST ANSWER: The height of the tank is 18 inches.
I'm not familiar with cubic feet measurements would this be the equivalent size of a 5 pound co2 tank?
    A shopper on Jan 14, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Yea, it's about the same size
