The pins are appealing since they are only 5.4 gallons, half the size of the firkin. And we often see with Real Ale events the beer never completely used in a firkin, so switching to a smaller size just made sense.

Love casks and doing cask ales at the brewery, but a firkin (~10gallons) is a lot to get through in 3 days when we are only currently open three days and the we are still educating customer on what a cask ale is. This will allow us to introduce people to real ales and not have to worry about spoilage or waste.
