German beers are in a class of their own. So it’s only fitting that they’d call for unique draft beer equipment. This slider-style beer coupler is made for the German A System keg valve. This TOF brand coupler comes complete with US standard output fittings and an A system input for an easy connection to your existing keg.
On any draft beer system, the coupler, or keg tap, allows the gas tank to supply pressurized CO2 into the keg. You attach the bottom of the coupler to the keg valve, the gas line to the side hose nipple, and the beer line on top of the coupler. When in use, the result is beer being pushed up the beer line toward the draft faucet.
With a body made from nickel-plated brass, this A System coupler has a 304 stainless steel probe — the part that is inserted inside the keg. Every part of this coupler that comes into contact with your beer is made of stainless-steel. This high-end material ensures durable performance and a high-quality pour with no added metallic taste.
This 100% stainless-steel contact A System coupler will fit many German beers, including Ayinger, Warsteiner, Hacker-Pschorr, Paulaner, Spaten, and a number of German-made pilsners. If you’re looking to serve Hofbrau or St. Pauli Girl, you’ll actually need a European Sankey (S System) coupler instead. Coupler is too tall?
The coupler is top quality and high class. The only problem is that it will not fit in my kegerator. Why would they make make something that I cannot use in my kegerator? I can accommodate 1/2 barrels, USA-D and European-S couplers fine, but cannot use an "A" coupler because they made it too high !! REALLY !!!

Too tall for my kegerator. Had to buy 90 degree fitting. First install was leaking. Adjusted, cleaned and retried. Waiting to see if leak stopped

Quality construction, but potentially a tight fit
This keg coupler works great with German kegs, such as ones from Paulaner. The build quality is superb! One thing to keep in mind is that this coupler is tall and will likely need a 90 degree connector on the top in order to fit into a smaller kegerator. With a 90 installed on top I had about 1/2" clearance with the top of my kegerator.

Type A Coupler Failure
Coupler is too tall for my kegerator. D and S couplers fit fine. I bought a 90 degree elbow to fix the height problem but after tapping my keg with no leaks or other problem, was unable to untap keg due to inability to pull back tap handle despite extreme force
They shipped this sign, which has screws coming out the back side, on top of some other signs that I had ordered and scratched up the face of other signs.

I purchased this item because I love German beer, the tap works great just purchase the 90 degree beer line adapter to go with it because it's taller and there maybe clearance problems in a standard kegerator
